Experimental Study on the Liquid‐Phase Adsorption Equilibrium of <i>n</i> ‐Butanol over Amberlyst™15 and Contribution of Diffusion Resistances

This work investigates the liquid-phase adsorption of n-butanol on Amberlyst™15 in temperature range 295–323 K at different initial adsorbate concentrations. The adsorbent was characterized by N2 physisorption, Fourier transform infrared pyridine, scanning electron microscopy, and powder X-ray diffraction. data obtained confirmed an structure with two porosity levels amorphous polymer structure. active sites are Brønsted or Brønsted-Lewis type. equilibrium constants were determined temperatures from slurry adsorber experiments. thermodynamic state functions estimated consistent thermodynamically physical adsorption. macropore diffusion coefficients using moment technique, contribution surface to evaluated.
